Madrid, Apr 10 (EFE).- The Kazakh Embassy in Spain celebrated Nauryz, the traditional Kazakh New Year, at the Carril del Conde Cultural Center in Madrid. The holiday marks the beginning of spring and symbolizes renewal, unity, and prosperity.
The event brought together institutional representatives, members of the Kazakh community, and people interested in the culture of the Central Asian country.
Kazakhstan’s ambassador to Spain, Danat Mussayev, and Madrid City Councilor David Pérez García spoke at the gathering, highlighting the importance of the celebration in strengthening cultural ties between the two countries.
Also in attendance were the president of Spain’s National Court, Juan Manuel Fernández Martínez, and the director general for North America, Eastern Europe, Asia, and the Pacific at the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Luis Fonseca.
The program included a concert of traditional Kazakh music by the ensemble Alqonyr, from the Turkestan region, as well as performances by young talents Zhanel Ali and Arman Zhanaly, Kazakh artists residing in Spain.
Nauryz, which coincides with the spring equinox, represents for the Kazakh people the beginning of a new cycle and harmony with nature.
