Kazakhstan signs collaboration agreement on digitization with Madrid regional government

Astana, Oct. 3 (EFE).- The Madrid regional minister for digitalization, Miguel López-Valverde, signed a collaboration agreement with Kazakhstan for cooperation in digitalization on Friday.

“The goal is to work together on experiences and collaborate between both parties to include artificial intelligence in a transparent and responsible manner in all administrative processes, training public employees and citizens,” López-Valverde told EFE.

The agreement was signed with the state-owned company National Information Technologies (NITEC), represented by the chairman of its board of directors, Daulet Bekmanov, during the Digital Bridge 2025 international forum in Astana.

Thanks to the agreement, both parties will work to “enable companies and the industrial sector to embrace technology to become much more productive,” said López-Valverde, adding that this will facilitate “technology for the business and industrial community and the administration itself.”

“Kazakhstan wants to completely digitize its administration for citizens in three years. In Madrid, where we are at 80%, we aspire to the same,” he added.

“The collaboration with Madrid, one of the most important regions in Spain, where more than 1,450 government procedures have already been automated, opens new horizons for joint innovation,” said Bekmanov.

The parties also plan to conduct joint research in the fields of artificial intelligence and big data, exchange experiences in digital transformation, and develop human capital in the ICT sector. EFE
