Astana, May 28 (EFE).- The Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte<\/strong>, met on Tuesday in Astana with the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev<\/strong>, offering cooperation in agriculture, sustainable energy, and water resource management.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“We will be pleased to share ideas and developments we have in the fields of agriculture, sustainable energy, and water resource management,” the press service of the Kazakh presidency quoted Rutte as saying.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Rutte recalled that he first visited Astana in 2010 and later in 2015, highlighting his high regard for Kazakhstan’s balanced position on regional and international events.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Tokayev pointed out that the Netherlands was the main investor in Kazakhstan’s economy, noting that “the amount of direct investment exceeded $120 billion.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Our countries are carrying out large-scale joint projects,” he added, emphasizing the importance of Rutte’s visit to his country, which will further boost the development of economic and trade relations<\/strong> between Astana and Amsterdam.<\/p>\n

In addition to discussing in detail the deepening of economic and trade relations, cooperation in energy and investment, transportation, innovations, nuclear energy, public health, climate agenda, and other areas, Rutte and Tokayev exchanged views on current international issues.<\/strong><\/p>\n

During his visit, \u00a0the Dutch prime minister, together with Kazakhstan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Chief of the Government Staff, Galymzhan Koishybayev, attended the opening ceremony of Amsterdam Square in Astana.<\/p>\n
