Astana, Jul 4 (EFE).- Leaders of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO)<\/strong><\/a> countries noted the emergence of a “fairer and multipolar<\/strong> world order” in the joint declaration<\/strong> signed Thursday at the end of their summit in Kazakhstan’s<\/strong> capital.<\/p>\n

“Tectonic<\/strong> shifts<\/strong> are occurring in global politics<\/strong>, the economy<\/strong>, and other areas of international relations<\/strong>. A fairer and multipolar world order is emerging…” the document reads.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

At the same time, the declaration warns<\/strong>, the use of force is intensifying<\/strong>\u00a0and international law is systematically violated. <\/strong>Geopolitical confrontations<\/strong> and conflicts are increasing, and risks to stability<\/strong> in the world and the SCO region are multiplying.<\/p>\n

“The member states<\/strong> do not participate in decision-making aimed at interfering in internal affairs<\/strong> and contrary to international law,” the Astana<\/strong> Declaration<\/strong> emphasizes.<\/p>\n

They confirmed their commitment to combating terrorism, separatism, and extremism<\/strong>, and recognized the central role of states and their security services in countering threats.<\/p>\n

Israeli-Palestinian conflict<\/strong><\/h3>\n

“Deeply concerned<\/strong> about the worsening Israeli-Palestinian conflict<\/strong>, the member states strongly condemn<\/strong> actions that have caused numerous civilian casualties and the catastrophic humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip,” the text states.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The SCO leaders stressed the need for a complete and sustainable ceasefire<\/strong> as soon as possible, providing access to humanitarian<\/strong> aid and making greater efforts to achieve peace, stability, and security<\/strong> for all residents of the region.<\/p>\n

The SCO said that the only possible way to ensure peace and stability in the Middle East<\/strong> is “a comprehensive<\/strong> and just resolution<\/strong> of the Palestinian issue<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n

Economic governance reform<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The organization called for further improvement<\/strong> and reform of the global economic governance<\/strong> architecture. And it said it would systematically defend and strengthen an open, transparent, fair, inclusive, and non-discriminatory trade system.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The member states expressed their rejection<\/strong> of protectionist actions, unilateral sanctions<\/strong>, and trade restrictions<\/strong>\u00a0because they “undermine the multilateral trading system<\/strong> and hinder sustainable global development.”<\/p>\n

They emphasized that the unilateral application of sanctions is incompatible with the principles of international law<\/strong> and negatively impacts third countries<\/strong> and international economic relations.<\/p>\n

The SCO, established in 2001, currently includes Belarus, China, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Belarus<\/strong> became the tenth member<\/strong> of the SCO Thursday, following Iran, which joined the organization last July. EFE<\/p>\n
