{"id":202438,"date":"2025-12-19T11:50:39","date_gmt":"2025-12-19T10:50:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/efecomunica.efe.com\/?p=202438"},"modified":"2025-12-19T16:59:19","modified_gmt":"2025-12-19T15:59:19","slug":"students-from-four-european-countries-create-short-film-promoting-respect-for-environment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/efecomunica.efe.com\/en\/students-from-four-european-countries-create-short-film-promoting-respect-for-environment\/","title":{"rendered":"Students from four European countries create short film promoting respect for environment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Madrid, Dec 19 (EFE).- More than 100 students and teachers from four European schools, along with 12 artists, have collaborated to create a short film that instills <strong>respect for the environment<\/strong> in young people through the technique of stop-motion animation, which simulates the movement of a static object through a series of still images.<\/p>\n<p>This initiative is part of the <strong>Green Tales<\/strong> project, led by the <strong>Yehudi Menuhin International Foundation<\/strong> and co-financed by the <strong>European Union<\/strong>. The initiative is dedicated to developing illustrated children&#8217;s stories in the form of animated films to awaken children&#8217;s connection with nature.<\/p>\n<p>The project director and senior project manager of the foundation, <strong>Bianca Rubino<\/strong>, has described it as \u201ca shared experience that inspires the imagination, empowers people, and creates a lasting impact,\u201d reminding us that \u201cgreat changes happen collectively.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Imane Tamli<\/strong>, head of Global Communication for the project, which also belongs to the European social network <strong>Panodyssey<\/strong>, explained to EFE that Green Tales began with a straightforward idea: &#8220;What would happen if we gave children a space to express themselves creatively about the environment?<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/JHfcobM-bhA?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Children&#8217;s creativity in stop motion<\/h2>\n<p>The stop-motion work carried out by schoolchildren in <strong>Spain, Iceland, Germany, and Turkey<\/strong> is related to the four elements of nature: water, air, earth, and fire.<\/p>\n<p>Nine minutes long and available online, the short film is the culmination of two years of work and brings together the experiences of the different countries. Each nation features an element and its relationship with nature. The film tells a story about an alien who travels to Earth to learn about the elements and concludes that \u201ceveryone must do everything possible to preserve the planet.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tamli said that the creative process was the responsibility of the children, who invented the plots, designed the sets, animated the scenes frame by frame, and finally recorded the narration with their own voices. They even created sounds.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cIt&#8217;s a complete creative process where the classroom becomes an animation studio, and they feel like real filmmakers,\u201d she said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2>Respect for nature in class<\/h2>\n<p>For her, the students \u201ccan be ingenious, creative, and free,\u201d something that the project wants to protect and encourage because \u201cas adults we have lost that, and children still don&#8217;t have that fear of expressing their ideas; they are not critical of their thoughts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to Tamli, parents said they had never seen their children so happy to wake up and go to school: \u201cThey would come home and try to animate some objects.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For her part, Yehudi Menuhin Foundation Executive Vice President <strong>Marianne Poncelet<\/strong> highlighted the importance of raising children&#8217;s awareness of respect for nature and how Green Tales has brought together children from all over Europe.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThis trip has been very inspiring for us, and the results encourage us to continue this beautiful project,\u201d she said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The Green Tales project is part of Panodyssey, which has collaborated with EFE in publishing this content. The CEO of the social and cultural network for creators, journalists, and readers, <strong>Alexandre Leforestier<\/strong>, has described it as a \u201csafe and collaborative place to engage young writers in diversity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>To this end, the organization ensures that there is no fake content, comments, or profiles, and that collaboration between users \u201cis very much part of its DNA.\u201d For Leforestier, the Green Tales project \u201cis one example of how we can educate and collaborate differently.\u201d EFE<\/p>\n<p>Project co-financed by the European Union<\/p>\n<p><img
