Visa unveils innovative solutions for LatAm merchants

Mexico City, Feb 11 (EFE).- Visa has introduced a modular solutions platform designed to empower merchants, acquirers, and payment facilitators with cutting-edge tools to enhance the consumer experience. The platform was unveiled at the Visa Seller Summit LatAm 2025 in Mexico City.

Enhancing Digital Payments Across Latin America

Leonardo J. Collado, the newly appointed head of Value-Added Services for Visa Latin America and the Caribbean, highlighted in an interview with EFE how these solutions will help merchants optimize their operations in a region as diverse as Latin America.

The Visa Seller Summit LatAm 2025 serves as both a showcase for technological advancements and a forum for key players in the payment ecosystem to exchange insights on challenges and opportunities in the regional market.

Collado underscored the importance of adapting solutions to local realities, emphasizing the need to “listen to the customer’s voice” to determine the best solutions and potential collaborations.

Visa: Tailoring Solutions for Market Needs

Visa’s approach prioritizes acceptance and financial inclusion, ensuring digital payments reach a broad customer base.

“The most important thing is acceptance,” said Collado. “And acceptance means bringing digital payments, enabling financial inclusion, and extending that to the full spectrum of customers. We want to be the brand, or rather the network, where you want to be, where you can be, where Visa is the best way to pay and get paid.”

During his presentation at the event, Collado introduced five key modules that make up Visa’s payment ecosystem:

  1. Payer Interaction – Enhancing the consumer’s digital payment experience.
  2. Fraud Management – Implementing advanced security measures.
  3. Credential Administration – Ensuring smooth card and payment processing.
  4. Payment Processing – Enabling seamless transaction handling.
  5. Post-Purchase Services – Addressing after-payment interactions and customer needs.

Impact on Merchants, Security, and Regional Adaptation

Latin America presents unique challenges due to its economic and technological diversity. However, Collado emphasized that success lies not just in technology, but in its effective implementation across different markets.

“Our acceptance platform is modular, like Lego pieces,” he explained. “You can take different services, build along the payment journey, and apply them where they are truly needed.”

Visa also places security at the forefront of its innovations, leveraging artificial intelligence models to ensure safe transactions.

“We are obsessed with security and use AI to bring customers the confidence that their transactions will be secure,” Collado stressed.
